Blood-C Movie - The Last Dark

So, I finally finished watching Blood-C The Last Dark and I must say I was very satisfied overall.

The end resolution was only so-so, but the storyline and action more than compensated for the lack of a completely defined ending.

I won't spoil too badly for anyone who has yet to see it, but I will say that fans of the series will most definitely enjoy this capstone movie just as much as its episodic predecessor.

The art style was very consistent to the established series, with far less CLAMP-noodle style than expected after such movies as X and shows like Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.

I found the animation and design to be very like Kobato, with an emphasis on fine lining and detail without the sugary-shoujo-sweetness of that series.

The gore level is also on par with the series, possibly more so, but still superbly animated and colored.

The score was passing fair, with appropriate forshadowing and use of volume, but nothing to dash out and buy on CD.

All in all, this was definitely worth a look, possibly even a rewatch to catch the nuances. If you are a fan of dark-themed anime, horror,or just CLAMP in general, give it a watch.

You won't be sorry.
